Vendres-Plage is the coastal area of the town of Vendres, in the Hérault department, in Occitanie, between Valras-Plage and Fleury, on the Languedoc Mediterranean coast. The campsite listed here benefits from direct sea access, in an area less built-up than the larger neighbouring resorts on the Hérault coast.
This seaside district, distinct from the village of Vendres set further inland, remains a relatively low-key coastal destination, away from the busiest flows of Languedoc seaside tourism. The nearby Étang de Vendres adds a natural dimension to the area, between a sandy beach and a protected wetland.
Camping in Vendres-Plage makes it possible to enjoy easy sea access in a calmer setting, while staying close to Valras-Plage and its shops, as well as Béziers, the main urban hub of this part of the Hérault, between the coastal lagoon and the wine-growing Biterrois, on this still-unspoilt stretch of Languedoc coast.
Vendres-Plage benefits above all from its position between sea and lagoon, with the sandy beach on one side and the Étang de Vendres nature reserve on the other, a space ideal for observing waterbirds and migratory species. This direct closeness between two distinct natural environments remains the area's main asset.
The coastline, less built-up than that of some neighbouring resorts, keeps a more natural character, with dune belts still present in places. Walkers and cyclists can follow the coast to Valras-Plage or explore the edges of the lagoon on dedicated trails.
Béziers, with its heritage around the Canal du Midi and the Saint-Nazaire cathedral, remains reachable in about twenty minutes, as does the Biterrois vineyard surrounding this part of the Hérault coast, for anyone wishing to vary their visits beyond the beach, between the lagoon, vineyards and the Canal du Midi.
