Frontignan, in the Hérault department, in Occitanie, is a town on the Languedoc coast known for its muscat vineyards as much as for its beaches. Five camping establishments are listed in the town, mainly by the sea, with also access to the lagoon that lines part of the town's land.
People camp here for long sandy beaches such as Les Aresquiers, lined with still-unspoilt dunes, in an area that keeps a more authentic character than some neighbouring Languedoc resorts. Frontignan draws in lovers of the seaside and of naturally sweet wine, just a few kilometres from Sète.

Frontignan is known for its muscat, a naturally sweet wine produced on the hillsides overlooking the town since ancient times, tasted today in several cellars open to the public. Les Aresquiers beach, lined with a protected dune belt, offers an unspoilt natural setting, away from the larger built-up resorts of the Languedoc coast.
The Étang d'Ingril and the salt pans that line the town form wetlands rich in birdlife, ideal for birdwatching from the paths laid out along the coast. Not far away, the town of Sète, with its canal and its atmosphere of a little Venice of the Languedoc, naturally rounds out a discovery of the Hérault coast.
Mont Saint-Clair, which overlooks Sète and part of the coast, offers a remarkable viewpoint for anyone wanting a higher vantage point over the whole coastline. Water jousting, a tradition still very much alive all along the Languedoc coast, regularly livens up the canals and neighbouring harbours in summer.
