Everything about the campsites by the water in Hyères

Hyères, in the Var department, is the oldest seaside resort on the Côte d'Azur: the town was already welcoming British winter visitors in the nineteenth century, even before Nice or Cannes. The three campsites listed here on this portal are linked to the sea, in keeping with the town's coastal vocation, open onto the Mediterranean and the Giens peninsula.

The town benefits from a very mild climate, palm trees planted as early as the nineteenth century, and direct access to the Îles d'Hyères, also called the Golden Islands. It's a camping destination in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur that combines an old Provençal town, a wild peninsula and a jetty out to the islands.

to discover

What to see and do in Hyères

Hyères' old town, perched on the slopes of the Castéou massif, keeps its medieval lanes, fortified gates and the remains of the Château Saint-Bernard overlooking the bay. The many palm trees planted as early as the nineteenth century, which earned the town the nickname 'Hyères-les-Palmiers', recall its past as a fashionable winter resort.

The Giens peninsula, linked to the mainland by two sand spits enclosing the Pesquiers salt pans, offers a remarkable natural landscape. It's also from Hyères' harbour that boats leave for the Golden Islands, Porquerolles, Port-Cros and Le Levant, whose clear waters are among the finest on the Var coast. Between medieval heritage, a wild peninsula and idyllic islands, Hyères offers privileged access to this corner of the Mediterranean.

our method

How we select every campsite

1

A verified criterion, not a promise

Every by the water campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.

2

Reputation, backed by reviews

We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.

3

Direct booking, transparent pricing

You book directly with the campsite, no middleman or hidden markup. The price shown is the price you pay.
