Everything about the campsites by the water in Saint-Tropez

Saint-Tropez, in the Var department, in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, brings together three campsites by the sea and one on the riverbank, reflecting a peninsula that combines a prestigious coastline with a more low-key hinterland. The town, world-famous for its harbour, remains at heart a former fishing village.

Camping in Saint-Tropez means enjoying Mediterranean access in one of the most renowned gulfs on the Côte d'Azur, while keeping the option of staying further inland, by a stream flowing down from the surrounding hills, for a calmer atmosphere.

This dual setup makes it possible to experience Saint-Tropez in two different ways, between the buzz of the harbour and the calm of a more secluded spot, just minutes from the centre.

What to see and do in Saint-Tropez

Saint-Tropez's old harbour, with its pastel façades and fishing boats moored next to impressive yachts, remains the heart of the town and the centre of attention, notably from the café terraces that line it. The citadel, up on the heights, overlooks the bay and houses the Maritime History Museum.

The Musée de l'Annonciade, set in a former chapel, presents a collection of modern art bringing together works by painters who stayed in Saint-Tropez at the turn of the twentieth century, including Paul Signac. Place des Lices, with its Provençal market and pétanque games, keeps the village's more down-to-earth soul.

Pampelonne beach, a few kilometres from the centre, rounds out the town's seaside offering, between fine sand and pine forest.

our method

How we select every campsite

1

A verified criterion, not a promise

Every by the water campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.

2

Reputation, backed by reviews

We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.

3

Direct booking, transparent pricing

You book directly with the campsite, no middleman or hidden markup. The price shown is the price you pay.
