the guide

Everything about the campsites by the water in Bormes-les-Mimosas

Bormes-les-Mimosas, in the Var department (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur), is a town entirely turned towards the Mediterranean: all six campsites listed face the sea. The town stretches from its hilltop village down to the coast, over several kilometres of shoreline between Le Lavandou and the Saint-Tropez peninsula.

The Bormes coastline alternates between rocky coves and sandy beaches, particularly around La Favière, now one of the main marinas in the area. The Maures massif, which overlooks the town, offers an immediate contrast between Mediterranean forest and seaside.

Camping in Bormes-les-Mimosas means enjoying direct access to the Var coastline while keeping, just a few minutes away by car, the charm of a Provençal village built on a hillside, far from the bustle of the busiest resorts on the Côte d'Azur.

What to see and do in Bormes-les-Mimosas

The old village of Bormes-les-Mimosas, classed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France, rises in tiers of flower-lined lanes and stone steps up to the ruins of the feudal castle that overlooks the bay. Its name comes from the mimosas, introduced in the nineteenth century, which colour the hillsides from late winter and give rise to a flower parade every year.

On the coast, the harbour of La Favière and the beach of the same name form the heart of summer life, with views over the Îles d'Hyères. The Maures massif, which stretches out behind the village, can be explored on hiking trails through chestnut groves and cork oak forests.

Nearby, the Domaine du Rayol, a Mediterranean botanical garden laid out in terraces down to the sea, rounds out the remarkable natural sites accessible from the town.

our method

How we select every campsite

1

A verified criterion, not a promise

Every by the water campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.

2

Reputation, backed by reviews

We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.

3

Direct booking, transparent pricing

You book directly with the campsite, no middleman or hidden markup. The price shown is the price you pay.
