Everything about the campsites by the water in Port Grimaud

Port Grimaud, in the Var department, in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, is a lake town built in the 1960s on former marshland, at the head of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. Most of the town's campsites benefit from direct sea access, complemented by a few addresses on the riverbank, at the mouth of the Giscle.

Camping in Port Grimaud means enjoying a distinctive setting, between canals, colourful houses and boats moored at the foot of the homes, in a site designed as a 'Provençal Venice'. Being close to the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, with its calm waters and beaches, rounds out a typically Var seaside offering, between Mediterranean mildness and summer buzz.

to discover

What to see and do in Port Grimaud

Port Grimaud was born in the 1960s from the imagination of architect François Spoerry, who designed this new town organised around navigable canals, where almost every house has its own jetty. The result, often compared to Venice, makes it a distinctive architectural site on the Côte d'Azur, best discovered by small electric boat.

The Saint-François-d'Assise church, with its bell tower, offers a view over the whole village and the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. Right nearby, the old village of Grimaud, perched on a hill with the ruins of its medieval castle, contrasts with the modernity of the lake town and offers a way to discover the Var hinterland.

our method

How we select every campsite

1

A verified criterion, not a promise

Every by the water campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.

2

Reputation, backed by reviews

We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.

3

Direct booking, transparent pricing

You book directly with the campsite, no middleman or hidden markup. The price shown is the price you pay.
