A pedestrian-only campsite 80 metres from Ayguade beach
Camping Parc et Plage occupies a rare location at 28 rue des Langoustiers, in the Ayguade district of Hyères-les-Palmiers. Its uniqueness lies in its entirely pedestrian operation: vehicles stay in the entrance car park, and holidaymakers unload their luggage using the trolleys provided. This complete absence of traffic creates a distinctive atmosphere, where children can move freely between the shaded pitches. The park, immersed in dense Mediterranean vegetation, combines umbrella pines, eucalyptus and bougainvillea, and accommodation ranges from contemporary mobile homes to pitches for tents and caravans. The establishment enjoys a particularly extended season, from 3 April to 1 November 2026, allowing you to also enjoy the mild shoulder seasons on the Côte d’Azur. The rating of 8.7/10 across more than 2,200 surveys confirms the quality of the welcome and the satisfaction of a regular clientele who return every year to this hidden gem in the Var.
Restaurant, bar-snack bar and services in a quiet setting
Catering on site is comprehensive, with both an à la carte restaurant and a bar-snack bar, open for most of the season. The restaurant showcases southern flavours: plancha grills, grilled fish, Mediterranean salads and children’s menus. The quicker bar-snack bar offers pizzas, platters and ice cream for tasty breaks after the beach. The outdoor terrace is especially popular at the end of the day. On the entertainment side, the Capfun team runs its classic programme with a kids’ club, teens’ club and show evenings, while respecting the campsite’s calm, family spirit. A convenience store and a daily bread delivery service are available, complemented by a launderette, wifi and bike hire, a valuable service given the Toulon-Lavandou cycle path running right past the campsite. Worth noting: the Ayguade district has numerous shops and restaurants within a few minutes’ walk.
Cycling, the Giens peninsula and the Golden Islands
The location of Camping Parc et Plage makes it an ideal base camp for exploring the Var coast. Ayguade beach is just a few steps away and offers a pleasant stretch of sand for swimming and children’s games. The Toulon-Lavandou cycle path, running right past the entrance, opens up kilometres of car-free rides towards the Giens peninsula, the harbour at Hyères or the La Capte salt flats. Sea lovers will favour boat trips to Porquerolles, Port-Cros and Le Levant, the famous Golden Islands, from the port of La Tour Fondue, ten minutes away. The Giens peninsula itself, with its coastal trails and wild beaches, is well worth a full day. Hyères-les-Palmiers, a few minutes away, charms with its medieval old town, its century-old palm trees and its Provençal markets. For sports enthusiasts, sailing, kitesurfing, diving and stand-up paddleboarding are practised all along the coast. Further afield, Toulon, Bormes-les-Mimosas and Le Lavandou are under thirty minutes away for further excursions in the Var.
