Everything about the campsites by the water in La Tremblade

La Tremblade, in the Charente-Maritime department, faces the Île d'Oléron across the Marennes-Oléron basin, one of the main oyster-farming basins in France. The eight campsites listed here on this portal are all linked to the sea, in keeping with this coastal town, between the estuary and the Coubre forest.

The town benefits from an active oyster-farming harbour and access to the state-owned forest that lines the Arvert point. It's a camping destination in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, between oyster-farming tradition, Atlantic beaches and a large pine forest, close to Royan and the Île d'Oléron.

to discover

What to see and do in La Tremblade

La Tremblade's harbour, on the shores of the Marennes-Oléron basin, remains a major hub of French oyster farming: the colourful huts of the oyster farmers line the quays, and the local oysters are among the most renowned in the country, shipped all across France.

The Coubre forest, which stretches over the Arvert point, offers long shaded cycle paths between maritime pines and dunes all the way to the ocean. Nearby, the Coubre lighthouse marks the boundary between the Gironde estuary and the Atlantic. Between oyster-farming tradition, state-owned forest and wild beaches, La Tremblade offers a more authentic face of the Charente coast than the larger neighbouring resorts.

our method

How we select every campsite

1

A verified criterion, not a promise

Every by the water campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.

2

Reputation, backed by reviews

We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.

3

Direct booking, transparent pricing

You book directly with the campsite, no middleman or hidden markup. The price shown is the price you pay.
