Everything about the campsites by the water in Batz

The Île de Batz lies in the Finistère department, in Brittany, off the coast of Roscoff, on Brittany's north coast. The campsite listed here enjoys access to the sea, on an island reachable only by boat, which gives it a particularly unspoilt character.

People camp on the Île de Batz for this clean break from the mainland, without cars or bustle, in a coastal setting made up of light sandy beaches and pink granite rocks typical of this coast. The campsite benefits from a calm environment, far from the tourist flows of the nearby mainland.

Between sheltered beaches and a headland exposed to winds from the open sea, the Île de Batz remains a destination apart on the Finistère coast, reserved for those willing to take the boat trip in exchange for greater peace and quiet. The campsite listed benefits from this access to the sea, in an island setting that remains rare among the Breton coastal destinations featured here.

to discover

What to see and do in Batz

The Île de Batz can be reached in about fifteen minutes by boat from Roscoff, a crossing that is enough to break completely with the pace of the mainland. With no car traffic, the island can be explored on foot or by bike along paths that run alongside a coastline that alternates between rocky and sandy stretches.

The Georges Delaselle garden, set in a former dune at the start of the twentieth century, is home to exotic plants that benefit from the island's micro-climate, a surprising site for such a small stretch of Breton land. The Île de Batz lighthouse, which can be climbed, offers a panorama over the archipelago and the Roscoff coastline.

Marine wildlife remains very much present around the island, with tidal flats rich in shellfish accessible at low tide. A small stretch of land that nonetheless brings together several faces of the Breton coastline within a small area. The crossing itself, with views over the Roscoff coast and its shipowners' houses, is already part of the experience.

our method

How we select every campsite

1

A verified criterion, not a promise

Every by the water campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.

2

Reputation, backed by reviews

We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.

3

Direct booking, transparent pricing

You book directly with the campsite, no middleman or hidden markup. The price shown is the price you pay.
