Everything about the campsites by the water in Taden

Taden lies in the Côtes d'Armor department, in Brittany, just north of Dinan, on the banks of the Rance, the coastal river that links the Channel to inland Brittany. The campsite listed here benefits from this riverside setting, with direct access to the body of water formed by the canalised Rance at this point.

The town runs alongside the Ille-et-Rance canal and its marina, La Hisse, an area popular with boaters and lovers of walks along the banks. The water here has nothing of the sea about it: it's a calm river landscape, lined with towpaths and meadows, very different from the seaside resorts of the nearby Breton coast.

People camp in Taden to enjoy this peaceful riverside atmosphere while staying just steps from Dinan, one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Brittany, and less than half an hour from the Emerald Coast.

What to see and do in Taden

Taden benefits above all from its setting on the Rance, with the La Hisse marina and the towpath that runs along the river, laid out for walking and cycling. This canalised stretch of the Rance, between locks and basins, is well suited to quiet walks outside the busiest summer period.

Right nearby, Dinan remains the area's major attraction, with its ramparts, half-timbered houses and river harbour below the old town, one of the best preserved in Brittany. Dinan's railway viaduct, visible from certain points in the valley, marks the landscape with its nineteenth-century architecture.

Cyclists can follow the greenway that runs along the Ille-et-Rance canal for long distances, while the Emerald Coast, with Dinard and Saint-Malo, remains reachable in less than half an hour's drive for those wishing to alternate between the river and the seaside.

our method

How we select every campsite

1

A verified criterion, not a promise

Every by the water campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.

2

Reputation, backed by reviews

We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.

3

Direct booking, transparent pricing

You book directly with the campsite, no middleman or hidden markup. The price shown is the price you pay.
