Everything about the campsites by the water in Dinard

Dinard, in the Ille-et-Vilaine department, in Brittany, developed in the late nineteenth century as a smart seaside resort on the Emerald Coast, facing Saint-Malo on the other side of the Rance estuary. Two camping establishments are listed in the town, one benefiting from sea access and the other from a more inland body of water.

People camp here for the Belle Époque atmosphere of the seafront villas, swimming at sheltered beaches and being right next to Saint-Malo. Dinard thus combines a genuine Breton seaside with remarkable architectural heritage, inherited from the wealthy British holidaymakers who came to stay here in the nineteenth century.

It's a destination that appeals to those seeking an elegant seaside while staying close to a major historic town like Saint-Malo. The local campsite makes it easy to explore the whole Emerald Coast, between sheltered beaches and remarkable sites.

What to see and do in Dinard

The Promenade du Clair de Lune, laid out on the seafront with its exotic gardens, and the Belle Époque villas that line the Pointe du Moulinet, are the most characteristic images of Dinard. L'Écluse beach, lined with colourful beach huts, remains the heart of the resort's seaside life.

Dinard faces Saint-Malo, reachable by ferry across the Rance estuary, one of the strongest tidal ranges in Europe, harnessed by the Rance tidal power plant. The Emerald Coast, from which Dinard takes its name because of the reflections in the water, also offers numerous coastal paths for extending the discovery of the Breton coastline.

The Sentier des Douaniers that runs along the Dinard coast leads on foot to many coves and viewpoints over the bay. This route, laid out on former coastal watch paths, remains one of the finest ways to discover the Emerald Coast.

our method

How we select every campsite

1

A verified criterion, not a promise

Every by the water campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.

2

Reputation, backed by reviews

We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.

3

Direct booking, transparent pricing

You book directly with the campsite, no middleman or hidden markup. The price shown is the price you pay.
