Everything about the campsites by the water in Nice

Nice, on the Côte d'Azur, in the Alpes-Maritimes department, owes its reputation to its position on the Mediterranean, along the Baie des Anges. The town's campsites are split between direct sea access and being near the rivers that flow down from the surrounding hills towards the coast, a setup fairly typical of the Nice hinterland.

The city benefits from a mild Mediterranean climate for much of the year, making it a popular camping destination both at peak season and in the shoulder seasons. Between the Promenade des Anglais, which runs along the sea, and the hills that frame the city, Nice offers a setting where beach days and hinterland excursions can alternate, never straying far from the water.

What to see and do in Nice

The Promenade des Anglais, which runs along the Baie des Anges for several kilometres, remains the symbol of Nice, as does Vieux Nice with its colourful lanes, its Cours Saleya market and its cuisine influenced by nearby Italy. Castle Hill, which overlooks the old town, offers one of the best-known viewpoints over the bay.

The Paillon, a river that once ran through the city in the open, was covered over and then turned into a long green promenade, the Promenade du Paillon, which today links the seafront to the districts further north. Nice is also a city of museums, notably the Matisse Museum and the Marc Chagall National Museum, evidence of how strongly Nice's light drew many twentieth-century painters.

our method

How we select every campsite

1

A verified criterion, not a promise

Every by the water campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.

2

Reputation, backed by reviews

We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.

3

Direct booking, transparent pricing

You book directly with the campsite, no middleman or hidden markup. The price shown is the price you pay.
