Everything about the campsites by the water in Brem sur Mer

Brem-sur-Mer, in the Vendée department (Pays de la Loire), is a small town on the Vendée coast, between Les Sables-d'Olonne and Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie. The campsite listed here faces the ocean, in an area known for its beaches and surf spots.

The Brem-sur-Mer coast alternates between sandy beaches and rocky areas, with waves consistent enough to attract a local surfing community and surf schools. Inland, the town keeps a more rural character, between vineyards and Vendée hedgerow countryside.

This village remains quieter than its neighbours Les Sables-d'Olonne or Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, making it an appealing base for those seeking sea access without the tourist density of the larger resorts on the Vendée coast.

What to see and do in Brem sur Mer

Brem-sur-Mer is one of the few towns on the Vendée coast to produce wine: the Fiefs Vendéens, a recognised appellation, has several estates here open to visitors, a legacy of a long-standing local wine-growing tradition, kept alive notably around the Saint-Nicolas priory.

On the sporting side, La Sauzaie beach is a recognised surf spot on the Vendée coast, popular with beginners and more experienced surfers alike. An eighteen-hole golf course also occupies part of the town's land, set slightly back from the coast.

The Romanesque-origin Saint-Nicolas church is evidence of the village's age, while the surrounding marshes and hedgerow countryside offer cycling routes to neighbouring towns on the Vendée coast.

our method

How we select every campsite

1

A verified criterion, not a promise

Every by the water campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.

2

Reputation, backed by reviews

We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.

3

Direct booking, transparent pricing

You book directly with the campsite, no middleman or hidden markup. The price shown is the price you pay.
