Saône-et-Loire has 25 listed wateside campsites, with clear dominance for rivers: 15 establishments border a watercourse, six a body of water and five a pond. The department, crossed both by the Saône to the east and Loire to the west, owes this proportion to the richness of its hydrographic network.
The Grosne and Arroux count among the most frequented rivers, while ponds concentrate mainly in Charolais-Brionnais, a renowned region for cattle breeding. Bodies of water, less numerous, complete the offering around Cluny and Mâconnais.
