Everything about the campsites by the water in Territoire de Belfort

Territoire de Belfort, France's smallest mainland department, has only two listed wateside campsites, one near a pond and the other near a body of water. This limited offering is explained by the department's small size, largely urbanised around Belfort.

Lake Malsaucy, a body of water well known in the region for hosting a major music festival every year, illustrates this profile well: a territory where the rare bodies of water play both a recreational and cultural role. The southern Vosges massifs, very close by, add a wooded setting to these bodies of water.

With only two campsites, Territoire de Belfort remains a local destination, rather than a holiday destination for wateside camping.

to discover

What to see and do in Territoire de Belfort

Territoire de Belfort is dominated by the city of Belfort and its monumental lion, sculpted by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, as well as by the fortified citadel that dominates the town. The department, wedged between Vosges, Jura and Alsace, benefits from a position at the crossroads between several natural regions.

Lake Malsaucy, located at the foot of the southern Vosges, is an appreciated walking spot for locals, known particularly for hosting a major music festival every summer. The Vosges foothills, very close, offer hiking trails in a still-wooded and preserved setting.

Between military heritage, the symbol of Belfort's Lion and proximity to the Vosges, Territoire de Belfort offers quick but dense discovery.

our method

How we select every campsite

1

A verified criterion, not a promise

Every by the water campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.

2

Reputation, backed by reviews

We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.

3

Direct booking, transparent pricing

You book directly with the campsite, no middleman or hidden markup. The price shown is the price you pay.
