Everything about the campsites by the water in Calvi

Calvi, in Haute-Corse, is the major seaside resort of the Balagne, a region in north-western Corsica. All eight campsites listed face the sea, along one of the island's longest sandy beaches, which stretches for nearly six kilometres at the head of the Bay of Calvi.

The town is built around its Genoese citadel, perched on a rocky headland overlooking the harbour and the bay. Behind it, the mountains of the Balagne provide a spectacular backdrop that contrasts with the blue of the Mediterranean.

Camping around Calvi means enjoying direct access to a fine sandy beach, rare at this scale in Corsica, in a sheltered bay that remains one of the busiest on the island in season.

to discover

What to see and do in Calvi

The citadel of Calvi, a thirteenth-century Genoese fortress overlooking the harbour, traditionally claims to be the birthplace of Christopher Columbus, a local legend kept alive for centuries though not confirmed by historians.

The marina, at the foot of the citadel, is where the town's summer activity is concentrated, with views over the long beach that stretches to the Pointe de la Revellata, a rocky headland that closes the bay to the south.

The Balagne, a wine-growing and farming region surrounding Calvi, is also known for its hilltop villages such as Sant'Antonino or Pigna, and for the small coastal train, the Balagne, which links Calvi to L'Île-Rousse along the shoreline.

our method

How we select every campsite

1

A verified criterion, not a promise

Every by the water campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.

2

Reputation, backed by reviews

We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.

3

Direct booking, transparent pricing

You book directly with the campsite, no middleman or hidden markup. The price shown is the price you pay.
