A large 5-star campsite divided into three quarters
Camping Las Bousigues, located on avenue des Corbières at Le Barcarès, is one of the largest 5-star establishments on the Catalan coast. Its distinctiveness lies in its layout into three quarters named Gaufrette, Joe Cook and Carabouille, each designed for a different type of clientele. The Gaufrette quarter, quieter and leafier, appeals to families with young children and couples who prefer to rest. Joe Cook groups together the pitches close to the water park, in a decidedly family-oriented atmosphere. Carabouille, finally, concentrates the evening events and entertainment for holidaymakers seeking festivity. This layout lets everyone find their own pace without having to put up with their neighbour’s. Accommodation ranges from contemporary mobile homes to pitches for tents and caravans. Open from 3 April to 20 September 2026, the campsite holds a rating of 8.7/10 from nearly 3,500 customer surveys, praised for its scale and the richness of its offering.
Restaurant, snack bar and three moods for the evenings
Las Bousigues’ size allows for comprehensive dining: an à la carte restaurant offers Catalan dishes, grilled specialities and family menus, complemented by a snack bar for quicker cravings — pizzas, platters, ice cream. Both establishments are open throughout the season, from 3 April to 20 September 2026, with extended hours in July and August. As for entertainment, the Carabouille quarter concentrates the musical evenings, shows and big festive gatherings, while the other sectors keep a calmer pace. The Capfun team rolls out the Fun Dose: Clapou clubs for 4-6 year-olds, Politicator for 7-10 year-olds, Nobodys for teenagers, sports instructors and themed evenings. A grocery shop on site helps with everyday shopping, and a fresh bread service is offered every morning. A laundrette, Wi-Fi, gas cylinder depot and bike hire round out the offering, along with the shops of Le Barcarès just a ten-minute walk away.
The beach on foot, a lagoon and water sports right nearby
Las Bousigues’ location, less than a kilometre from the sea, makes all the difference: the large sandy beach at Le Barcarès is reached on foot via a safe pathway, without needing to get back in the car. The marina and its famous ocean liner, the Lydia, are a short distance away, ideal for an evening stroll. Behind the campsite, the Salses-Leucate lagoon offers a prime playground for sailing, kitesurfing, paddleboarding and windsurfing, with several schools available. Cycling enthusiasts appreciate the large cycle path that runs along the coast and lets you reach Saint-Cyprien or Canet-en-Roussillon under your own steam. On site, a multi-sports pitch, pétanque and table tennis fill the afternoons. For excursions, Perpignan is 25 minutes away, the Château de Salses 15 minutes, and the first mountains of the Roussillon, around Força Réal and Tautavel, are less than forty minutes’ drive away for lovers of heritage and scenery.
