A 5-star campsite along the Hérault river in Agde
Camping Fleurs d’Agde occupies an ideal setting along the Hérault river, right next to the town centre of Agde, one of the oldest towns in France, founded by the Phocaean Greeks 2,600 years ago. This riverside identity makes all the difference and gives the campsite a unique character on the Languedoc coast. The 5-star estate spreads over a carefully landscaped park, with shaded, clearly marked pitches to preserve everyone’s privacy. Accommodation ranges from contemporary mobile homes to more spacious versions for large families. The river’s proximity allows for lovely bike rides to Plage de la Tamarissière, 2.5 km away, reachable via the cycle paths that run along the banks. Mégane and Romain, who run the campsite, personally welcome holidaymakers to make the holiday unforgettable. Open from 30 April to 6 September 2026, the establishment holds a remarkable rating of 9.4/10 from over 2,700 customer surveys — one of the best ratings across the whole Capfun portfolio.
Restaurant, snack bar and Fun Dose Rouge in peak season
Dining on site includes both an à la carte restaurant and a snack bar, both open throughout the campsite’s season, from 30 April to 6 September 2026. The restaurant showcases Mediterranean and Languedoc flavours — grilled plancha dishes, southern salads, regional dishes and kids’ menus — in a friendly atmosphere overlooking the park. The snack bar, quicker to grab a bite, offers pizzas, sharing platters and ice cream for tasty breaks after swimming or a bike ride. The outdoor terrace is especially popular at the end of the day. As for entertainment, the Capfun team rolls out its famous Fun Dose Rouge during peak season, from 6 July to 28 August 2026, a packed programme that brings the campsite to life all week: Clapou clubs for 4-6 year-olds, Politicator for 7-10 year-olds, Nobodys for teenagers, as well as the classic pool wake-up sessions, sports tournaments and a big family game. Five big evenings a week, hosted by outside performers, offer quality shows. Practical services include a grocery shop, daily bread delivery, a laundrette, Wi-Fi and bike hire.
La Tamarissière beach, ancient Agde and the Étang de Thau
Fleurs d’Agde’s location opens up a wonderfully rich playground. The beach at la Tamarissière, 2.5 km away, is ideally reached by bike along the Hérault river: fine sand facing the Mediterranean, ideal for swimming and children’s games, in an unspoilt setting. On site at the campsite, a multi-sports pitch, pétanque courts, mini-golf, table tennis tables, volleyball and beach-volleyball courts, a football pitch and a zip line keep sports fans busy every day.
As for heritage, Agde — nicknamed the Black Pearl of the Mediterranean for its volcanic basalt buildings — reveals its fortified Saint-Étienne cathedral, its Musée de l’Éphèbe and its historic centre. Cap d’Agde, 5 minutes away, offers its marina, its Aqualand aquarium for children and its seaside entertainment. The Étang de Thau, 20 minutes away, invites you to oyster tastings in the oyster-farming villages of Bouzigues and Mèze. Pézenas and its historic centre are 20 minutes away for heritage lovers. The Canal du Midi, a UNESCO World Heritage site, runs through the area, offering cycling, boat trips or stand-up paddleboarding. To explore further, the Hérault is full of hidden gems between garrigue scrubland, vineyards and coastline, throughout the Occitanie region.
