The Impressionist painters, Claude Monet foremost among them, came here many times to paint.
The coastal path that runs along these cliffs offers dizzying views over the Channel, while the village centre, with its half-timbered market hall, rounds out the visit. The pebble beach, framed by the two cliffs, remains the most natural starting point for admiring this listed landscape.
