A 5-star campsite in the Mimizan pine forest
Camping Marina Landes is located at 8 rue Marina in Mimizan, in the Landes. Its location 500 metres from the sea makes it an ideal base camp for enjoying both the beach and the Gascon hinterland. The 5-star estate spans the Landes pine forest, with its typical maritime pines filtering the light and creating pleasant coolness even in midsummer. The pitches are carefully defined, alternating between sunny areas and cooler terraces under the foliage, in a warm, convivial setting often highlighted by regulars. Accommodation ranges from contemporary mobile homes to more spacious versions for large families. This family-friendly, convivial quality makes all the difference and particularly appeals to holidaymakers seeking an authentic atmosphere. Open for an extended season, from 11 April to 21 September, the campsite holds a rating of 8.7/10 across more than 2,300 customer surveys, a mark of consistent hospitality quality recognised season after season.
Restaurant, bar and services in the pine forest
Catering on site is comprehensive, with both an à la carte restaurant and a bar-snack bar, both open during the campsite season. The restaurant showcases the flavours of the Landes and Gascony, confit, duck breast, Landes salad, ocean fish, in a warm atmosphere opening onto the terrace in the shade of the pines. The quicker bar-snack bar offers pizzas, platters and ice cream for tasty breaks after the beach or a swim. The outdoor terrace is very popular at the end of the day. On the entertainment side, the Capfun team runs high season with its Clapou clubs for 4-6 year-olds, Politicator for 7-10 year-olds, Nobodys for teens, as well as water wake-ups, sports tournaments and themed evenings. Practical services include a convenience store, a daily bread delivery service, a launderette, wifi in communal areas and bike hire for reaching the sea and the Landes cycle paths.
The beach, Lake Mimizan and the Gascon hinterland
Marina Landes’ location opens up a rarely rich playground. The large ocean beach at Mimizan, 500 metres away, unfurls its golden fine sand and ocean waves ideal for surfing, swimming and children’s games, the resort is one of the major spots on the Silver Coast. Lake Mimizan, a short distance away, offers a calm-water alternative for family swimming, paddleboarding and sailing. The Vélodyssée, an immense cycle path running along the Landes coast, opens up kilometres of family bike rides as far as Biscarrosse to the north or Saint-Girons-Plage to the south. The Gascon hinterland holds many treasures: traditional villages, the Tursan vineyards, medieval bastide towns and the authentic Chalosse region can be discovered in under an hour. For heritage enthusiasts, the UNESCO-listed Sainte-Marie abbey church in Mimizan is well worth a visit. Further afield, Dax and its spa baths, as well as Bayonne and the Basque Country, are an hour away. On the campsite, a multisports pitch, pétanque and table tennis tables keep sports fans busy.
