Camping Larrouleta 3-star – Lakeside in the Basque Country

Set in Urrugne on the shore of a private lake, a stone’s throw from Socoa and Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Camping Larrouleta is open all year round. 100% dedicated to outdoor camping, it welcomes only tents, caravans, motorhomes and vans – no mobile homes – on large grassy or gravel pitches.

Standard pitches (80 m² min) offer peace and shaded space. Grand Confort pitches (110 m² min) are bordered by flowering hedges and have a drinking water connection, 10A electrical hookup and wastewater drainage. Motorhome owners benefit from pitches on stabilised gravel with 24-hour access via magnetic card and a dedicated service point.

17 private Premium sanitary cabins (shower + toilet + basin) are available on reservation. Restaurant La Table de Larrouleta, daily bakery, laundrette, Txik Txak bus at the entrance, cycle path, Tourisme et Handicap label – everything is in place for a successful stay, from January to December, in the Basque Country.

Dining: La Table de Larrouleta (renovated in 2019) serves Basque specialities, homemade pizzas and desserts at the bar. The takeaway service lets you dine right at your lakeside pitch. Fresh bread and pastries every morning at the bakery. Full breakfast at the restaurant from June to the end of September.

Sanitary facilities and comfort: renovated sanitary blocks, equipped laundrette (washing machines, tumble dryers, irons), hairdryer, 17 private Premium cabins (shower + toilet + basin, including 3 family cabins). Lakeside activities and nearby attractions – Camping Larrouleta

The 2.5-hectare private lake is the campsite’s natural playground. Free swimming, free pedal boats and paddleboards, catch-and-release fishing without a permit (carp, bream, roach, perch, trout) – the waterside is never far away. In July-August, the Aquazone brings slides and trampolines to the lake.

On site, all activities are free: tennis court, 8-lane petanque area, volleyball court, football, table tennis, table football and a children’s play area.

Nearby: the beaches of Socoa and Saint-Jean-de-Luz 5 minutes away by bus, surfing at Hendaye, hiking up La Rhune (rack railway), local markets at Espelette (AOP peppers) and Ainhoa (one of France’s most beautiful villages), Biarritz 20 minutes away, San Sebastián 30 minutes away on the Spanish side. The campsite is the ideal starting point for exploring the Basque Country on both sides of the border.
