Everything about the campsites by the water in VOLSTROFF

Volstroff is a small town in the Moselle department, in Grand Est, in the north of the department, close to the border with Luxembourg and Germany. The campsite listed here benefits from a pond-side setting, far from any coastline, in a rural area marked by wetlands and forests in this corner of Lorraine.

The town remains low-key and not very touristy, like many villages in this border area of the Moselle, where activity is organised mainly around farming and small local industry. The pondside campsite here offers a calm setting, well suited to fishing and quiet outdoor activities.

People come to Volstroff for the quiet of this Moselle countryside, in a cross-border area that gives easy access to nearby Luxembourg, while remaining rooted in a rural area still spared from mass tourism and the bustle of large cities.

What to see and do in VOLSTROFF

Volstroff lies in the 'Three Borders' area, this part of northern Moselle where France, Luxembourg and Germany meet, a territory marked by a distinctive industrial and border history. The pond that borders the town offers a calm setting for fishing and walking, in a landscape of hedgerow countryside and small woods typical of this rural Moselle.

Nearby, the Château de Malbrouck, in Manderen, rebuilt in the late twentieth century on the remains of a fifteenth-century fortress, remains one of the most visited heritage sites in the area, with its temporary exhibitions and reconstructed medieval architecture.

The town of Sierck-les-Bains, overlooked by its medieval castle above the Moselle river, rounds out a discovery of this border area, as do the many hiking trails that cross the forests and valleys of this little-known corner of Lorraine, between France, Luxembourg and Germany.

our method

How we select every campsite

1

A verified criterion, not a promise

Every by the water campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.

2

Reputation, backed by reviews

We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.

3

Direct booking, transparent pricing

You book directly with the campsite, no middleman or hidden markup. The price shown is the price you pay.
