The mountain farm-inns on the Route des Crêtes are an experience apart: you eat there in an authentically Vosges setting, with panoramic views over the mountain range. Nearby, Lake Gérardmer, nicknamed the ‘pearl of the Vosges’, unfurls its 115 hectares with water activities, landscaped beaches and boat rides. Lake Retournemer completes the trio of glacial lakes in the valley. The Route des Crêtes, a short distance away, offers exceptional panoramas over the Vosges mountain range and the Alsace plain: the Col de la Schlucht, the Hohneck and the Grand Ballon reveal breathtaking views.
