A 5-star campsite in a nature reserve
Camping La Nautique is located at 254 avenue des Étangs in Narbonne, in an absolutely unique setting: at the heart of a nature reserve, right at the entrance to the town. This dual identity — full nature and urban proximity — makes all the difference and gives the campsite a character unmatched on the Languedoc coast. The 5-star estate stretches along the shores of the lake, in an exceptional landscaped setting where protected flora and fauna create a remarkable backdrop. Pitches are carefully marked out to respect the environment, generously sized to preserve everyone’s privacy. Accommodation ranges from contemporary mobile homes to more spacious versions for large families. The sunset over the lake, particularly spectacular at the end of the day, is one of the pleasures regulars often mention. Open from 30 April to 6 September 2026, the establishment holds a remarkable rating of 9.3/10 from nearly 1,700 customer surveys — one of the best ratings in the region, a mark of quality hospitality and an exceptional setting.
Restaurant, bar and hospitality in a nature reserve
Dining on site includes both an à la carte restaurant and a snack bar, both open throughout the campsite’s season, from 30 April to 6 September 2026. The restaurant showcases Languedoc flavours — grilled dishes, fresh fish from the lakes and sea, southern salads, regional dishes and kids’ menus — in a friendly atmosphere opening onto the terrace facing the lake. Watching the sunset over the lake from the terrace is a highlight of the stay. The snack bar, quicker to grab a bite, offers pizzas, platters and ice cream for tasty breaks after swimming. As for entertainment, the Capfun team runs peak season with its Clapou clubs for 4-6 year-olds, Politicator for 7-10 year-olds, Nobodys for teenagers, as well as pool wake-up sessions, sports tournaments and themed evenings, all respecting the nature reserve setting that defines the establishment. Practical services include a small grocery shop, daily bread delivery, a laundrette, Wi-Fi in the communal areas and bike hire to reach the Aude beaches.
The Aude beaches, historic Narbonne and the hinterland
The location of Camping La Nautique opens up an exceptional playground. The vast Aude beaches — Narbonne-Plage, Saint-Pierre-la-Mer, Gruissan — are just 15 minutes away by car, and easily reached by bike thanks to the cycle paths criss-crossing the region: miles of fine sand, ideal for swimming, surfing and water sports. Narbonne, a short distance away, reveals its Saint-Just cathedral, its Archbishops’ Palace, its colourful covered market and the Canal de la Robine. The Abbaye de Fontfroide, an 11th-century Cistercian gem, is 15 minutes away for heritage lovers. The Petite Camargue, with its white horses and pink flamingos, is discovered right within the nature reserve itself, on foot or on a 4×4 safari. For wine lovers, the Corbières and Minervois areas offer tastings and estate visits. Further afield, Carcassonne and its fortified, UNESCO-listed city are 50 minutes away for a must-do excursion. On site at the campsite, a multi-sports pitch, pétanque and table tennis tables keep sports fans busy.
