Located at 38 avenue de la Plage in Labenne-Océan (40530), Camping La Mer enjoys an ideal position on the Landes coast: just 700 metres from the Atlantic Ocean, in a wooded setting typical of the Landes (maritime pine forests). The campsite is open from 27 March to 20 September 2026, nearly six months of season, one of the longest on the Landes coast.

A Capfun-listed site, Camping La Mer offers air-conditioned mobile homes, chalets and pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes. Capacity of 2 to 8 people to suit families, couples and groups of friends coming to enjoy the Atlantic beaches.

The menu showcases the flavours of the South-West and the Basque-Landes coast: seafood (chipirones, hake, marinated anchovies), Landes specialities (duck breast, foie gras, garbure), Basque influences (piperade, Basque cake), accompanied by regional wines and local Armagnac. The bar keeps the evenings going in high season in a relaxed, convivial atmosphere.

On the facilities side, you’ll benefit from wifi in communal areas, bed linen and cleaning kit rental, a shared tumble dryer, fridge and washing machine rental. The local grocery shop is there for everyday shopping.

Practical conditions: pets accepted under conditions, wheelchair access, free cancellation offered. Motorcyclists and cyclists (the Landes coast has several hundred kilometres of secure cycle paths) are gladly welcomed. Payments: credit card, cash, bank transfer, ANCV holiday vouchers. Reception speaks French, Spanish (border nearby) and English.

Activities and leisure by the sea at Camping La Mer

Entertainment is one of Camping La Mer’s great signatures in high season, with quality recognised by regulars: sports tournaments, themed evenings (often centred on Basque, Landes and South-West culture), mini-disco, kids’ club, mascots, poolside entertainment. On site: a multisports pitch, pétanque, table tennis, play areas and inflatable games.

On the sea side, 700 metres away, you’ll reach the long beach at Labenne-Océan, one of the recognised spots on the Landes coast: surfing and bodyboarding for fans of board sports (several surf schools nearby), swimming in iodine-rich sea water, paddleboarding as soon as the waves allow, sea kayaking, long walks over kilometres of sand. The Landes cycle paths let you reach neighbouring beaches by bike, in the shade of the pine forests.
