With 1,850 km of coastline, it’s packed with stunning swimming spots. It boasts more than 200 beaches, and today we’re sharing our favourites with you! Named the world’s most beautiful beach in 2025 by World’s 50 Beaches², Cala Goloritzé is a natural landmark with turquoise waters, so precious that it has been protected since 1950.
To preserve this corner of paradise, access is limited to 250 people, and there’s also an entry fee. What’s the reward? Water of crystalline purity and unique rock formations, such as this 143-metre-tall limestone pinnacle, which seems to watch over swimmers.
Located in the Gulf of Orosei, this cove has to be earned! Reach it on foot via the Golgo plateau. Wear sturdy shoes, as the adventure is part of the charm of getting to Sardinia’s most beautiful beach.

Head north on the Italian island! Hidden in the La Maddalena archipelago is Spiaggia Rosa, a wonder found on the island of Budelli.
Its secret? Sand with pink hues, made up of tiny fragments of coral and micro-organisms, such as Miniacina miniacea. But beauty often attracts envy: the illegal removal of this sand, combined with the fact that this Sardinian beach belongs to the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park, has pushed the authorities to take strict measures. Today, it is forbidden to walk on this remarkable sand.
But don’t be disappointed! You can admire this spectacle from a boat or from the walkway installed for this purpose. It’s a contemplative experience that earns this spot its place among Sardinia’s paradise beaches.

Its princely name comes from Prince Karim Aga Khan, the founder of the Costa Smeralda, who fell under this spot’s spell in the 1960s.
To drop anchor here, you’ll need to walk along a slightly steep path! Horseshoe-shaped, the bay reveals two ribbons of fine sand, delicately separated by rocks with pink hues, where wild vegetation clings on. The sea, a Caribbean blue, completes this idyllic picture.
Highly popular during the holidays, this magnificent Sardinian beach is well equipped. You can hire parasols and sun loungers, or cool off at the bar. It’s a dream spot for snorkelling and an essential stop on any trip along this coast.

Head to Stintino, in the north-west of the island, for an unforgettable swim. Spiaggia La Pelosa is a natural open-air swimming pool! The crystal-clear water barely reaches ankle height for dozens of metres. It’s therefore a paradise for families with children.
However, access is regulated to preserve this magical spot. You’ll need to book your place via an app (La Pelosa) and pay an entry fee. A handy tip? Access becomes free after 6pm!
The view is breathtaking, with a vista over the wild islands of Asinara and Piana. Many swimmers make their way to the tower, dating from the 16th century, which stands just a few metres from the shore. It’s impossible not to feel you’re swimming at Sardinia’s most beautiful beach, especially if you also try your hand at snorkelling.

Nestled in the Gulf of Orosei, between Baunei and Dorgali, Cala Luna is a dream beach in Sardinia. The adventure begins right from the access route! The easiest way is to hire a boat or a dinghy from the port of Cala Gonone. Those who are more active can walk there, on a 90-minute hike that’s sometimes quite challenging.
Once there, the scenery is spectacular. The 800-metre pale sandy beach is dotted with natural caves. The white limestone cliffs plunge into waters with blue-tinged reflections. Despite its wild feel, the beach is equipped with a bar and a food stand.
Cala Luna is an unmissable spot in southern Italy – it might even be Sardinia’s most beautiful beach. You can hire canoes and water sports equipment here, or explore the seabed by snorkelling.

The ideal period runs from June to September. The weather is warm and sunny, and the sea temperature, ranging between 21°C and 26°C, is perfect for swimming.
For a more peaceful experience, aim to arrive very early in the morning, before 9am. Another great option is to visit after 6pm. As well as avoiding the crowds, you’ll also protect yourself from dangerous sun exposure!
