A 5-star estate on the banks of the Eyrieux
Domaine des Plantas is located on route des Plantas in Saint-Vincent-de-Durfort, accessed via Les Ollières-sur-Eyrieux. Its position on the banks of the Eyrieux river is one of its major assets: natural swimming spots are directly accessible from the campsite, without needing to get back in the car. The park spreads over gently sloping ground, shaded by chestnut trees and lined with the rocks characteristic of Ardèche landscapes. Pitches alternate between sunny terraces and cooler areas beneath the foliage. Contemporary mobile homes, family lodges and pitches for tents and caravans coexist in a layout designed to preserve tranquillity. The establishment is open from 30 April to 30 August 2026, a shorter season but focused on the fine-weather Ardèche days. The rating of 8.9/10 from over 1,200 customer surveys confirms the excellence of a site where nature remains the number-one selling point for regulars.
Restaurant, snack bar and riverside evenings
Dining on site is comprehensive: an à la carte restaurant offers the classics of Ardèche cuisine — caillette (pork and chard pâté), local charcuterie, grilled dishes and market salads — while a snack bar provides quick service with pizzas, platters and ice cream. Both establishments are open throughout the season, from 30 April to 30 August 2026. The outdoor terrace offers a splendid panorama over the valley, especially appreciated at the end of the day when the evening light casts its most beautiful colours over the rocks and vegetation. As for entertainment, the Capfun team runs peak season with its Clapou and Politicator clubs for children, the Nobodys club for teenagers, pool wake-up sessions and a packed evening programme combining shows and friendly activities. Practical services include a small grocery shop, daily bread delivery, Wi-Fi in the communal areas, a laundrette and an information point with excursion ideas for the valley.
The river, canoeing and hilltop Ardèche villages
Direct access to the Eyrieux makes the river the epicentre of the stay: swimming in the natural pools, fishing and canoe-kayak descents from Saint-Sauveur-de-Montagut are all on the agenda. The famous Dolce Via, a former railway line converted into a cycle path, crosses the valley and offers miles of shaded riverside walks. On site at the campsite, a multi-sports pitch, pétanque and table tennis tables keep sports fans busy every day. The hilltop villages nearby are worth the effort: Chalencon, one of the most beautiful villages in France, reveals its keep and medieval lanes, while Désaignes, Saint-Agrève and Vernoux offer a dive into the authentic Vivarais. Privas, the capital of the Ardèche, is twenty minutes away for shopping or a meal in town. Lovers of longer excursions can reach the Pont d’Arc and the Gorges de l’Ardèche in under an hour and a half, or the Mont Mézenc and the Ardèche plateau for exceptional high-altitude panoramas.
