In Mont-près-Chambord, Les Lodges de Blois-Chambord are laid out around two small natural ponds that give the 3.5-hectare site its atmosphere. This 3-star campsite with the Clef Verte label is run by Virginie and Arnaud. People come here for the peace and quiet: cars are kept to a minimum and silence is requested from 10.30 pm.
Several units sit right by the water. Four air-conditioned cottages and chalets, from 34 to 40 m², have a terrace with pergola overlooking the ponds; one of them, at 40 m², has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The floating lodge sits just above the water among the reeds, is reached by a jetty and comes with a rowing boat. A stopover hut and a tent on stilts complete the waterside options.
In total the site has 98 units, including 45 pitches for tents, vans and motorhomes, along with wooden lodges, barrels and mobile homes. It is open from 5 April to 25 October 2026.
The cottages and chalets on the pond have their own equipped kitchen, and reception also hires out barbecues, fridges, cots and high chairs so you can make the most of the terrace above the water. Free wifi covers the whole campsite.
There is a service area for motorhomes, and the laundry has a washing machine and a tumble dryer. In the clubhouse, a TV lounge, board games and a library fill rainy evenings. For shopping, a small shop sells local produce, and the village shops are less than 2 km away.
Dogs are welcome on a lead. Reception, the toilet blocks and the pool are accessible to guests with reduced mobility, who have an adapted chalet and mobile home.
By the ponds, days go by between fishing, a nap in a hammock and watching ducks, moorhens and dragonflies. Children have a trampoline and a playground, adults a pétanque court. In the evening, Mont-près-Chambord, a labelled “starry village”, offers a truly dark sky once the lights go out.
On the river side, the Loire flows 6 km away: you can paddle down it by canoe from the Lac de Loire or Saint-Dyé-sur-Loire. The campsite rents bikes by the day to reach the Loire à Vélo route, a few kilometres away.
The Château de Chambord is 10 km away, with Blois and Cheverny close by. At the Parc des Mées, on the banks of the Loire near Blois, families will find mini golf, a climbing wall and a paddling pool.
